Poetry. TOUCHING STONE charts MacAdams's journey as she deals with the deaths of three family members, along the way finding mystery and the numinous presence of stone. She says in her introduction that "[f]rom the stillness of stone come words, comes a voice, come poems." According to Amelie Frank, "What she reports back to us from her daily pilgrimages should give us hope: truth and beauty are at hand everywhere we look and always just as we need it most."
