Poetry. A book of parties, monsters, paranoia, UFOs, friends and the Bay Area. Set in the 90s and beyond, John Sakkis's RAVE ON! finds beauty in the "trainwreck," that liminal space where dissonant sounds and kinetic energies commingle, forming a new kind of static, where the party begins after the music stops.
John Sakkis's books include MIRROR MAGIC (Roof Books, 2020), NIKE+, Psychopomp, RAVE ON! (BOTH BOTH Books,2016), THE ISLANDS (Nightboat Books, 2014), and RUDE GIRL (BlazeVox books, 2009), as well as numerous chapbooks and ephemera. From 2005- 2015 he edited BOTH BOTH, a little magazine of poetry. With Angelos Sakkis, he has translated five books by Athenian poet Demosthenes Agrafiotis, including Maribor which won the 2011 Northern California Book Award for Poetry In Translation. He was born, raised and lives in the East Bay Area.Author City: OAKLAND, CA USA
