Description
Literary Nonfiction. "Bitter and sardonic, biting and sarcastic, Del Boca's Italy's Lies is a necessary antidote to the infection of empty patriotism and political mythology of modern Italy. His book documents the extraordinary, endemic and continuing corruption of Italy's ruling class as the primary reason Italy was never, is not, and may never be, a 'normal country.'"—Stanislao Pugliese
"[In ITALY'S LIES], Del Boca puts his journalistic skills at the disposal of a new and less catechistic historical investigation. He offers his flair for detail, his suspicion of the protagonists' sincerity when they speak of their own actions, his ability to catch contradictions, and his ability to navigate amongst the shadows of what is left unsaid and what remains unclear."—Pierluigi Battista
