Poetry. Music. Art. Consisting of printed and handwritten lyrics and poems alongside impersonal doodles and sketches, LITTLE BLACK BOOK is a portrait of the musician behind the on-stage glamour and performance. Designed to accompany Sarah's debut album, released this year, this is an inspiring and informal glimpse into a creative mind.
A graduate of Berklee College of Art, Chicago-born Sarah Walk signed to One Little Indian last year and set to work on her debut album with producer Steve Brown. Her distinct, androgynous voice, reminiscent of Leslie Feist, marries the huskiness of Joni Mitchell to the sweetness of Judie Tzuke and a uniquely rhythmic style of piano-playing. Sarah's music is about big songs and bigger melodies, with direct lyrics on the eternal themes of heartbreak and loss.Author City: Los Angeles, CA USA
