Description
Poetry. Proceeding largely from the rural modernist inflections explored in his earlier work, C. Violet Eaton's QUARTET opens language out further, allowing other, wider influences to creep in: the poetics of dictation (Spicer, the surrealists, etc.), arthouse cinema & B-movies, pulp novels, early rock 'n' roll, literary decadence, & oral traditions. Themes include dissociated/disembodied voices, moral failure, crime, performance, desire, divination, possession, theatricality, money, & memory.
