Description
Poetry. "Though I disprove it with all the days of my life, / who am I to deny / this blade of a faith, / surfacing"—Chloe Garcia Roberts writes in the title poem of her debut collection, THE REVEAL. In the psalmic tradition of singing despair to approach beauty "that grace / —that fire infolding—" the poet articulates a gospel of plurality, a strategy of shattering against the face of this "tightest loss," this "slightest truth" and builds a poetic ark to contain and catalog this visceral, stark and elegiac swarm of selves.
