Description
Poetry. TAKES is the second in Bootstrap Press' Letterpress Editions. Morris proclaims: "False starts, vagaries and errata accrete, slowly compounding themselves into work. The word 'takes' most obviously implicates the violence of the subject: this piece of writing ought to be called 'Gives.' But artists are inescapably on the take just like your most corrupt cop in a detective film. And for the viewer, encountering a work of art must always take place despite the tacit and tawdry possibility he's being gulled, taken for a ride."
