Poetry. LIFE is Elizabeth Arnold's fourth volume of poems. John Palattella has written of her poetry in The Nation: "Elemental and unsparing, quiet and startling, Arnold's supple syntax is a source of gravity and vertigo. It is an acute expression of a mind's awareness of the tragedy of effacement: in burning through it, we gain a keener sense of our predicament."
Elizabeth Arnold has published five books of poems, The Reef (University of Chicago Press, 1999), CIVILIZATION (Flood Editions, 2006), EFFACEMENT (Flood Editions, 2010), LIFE (Flood Editions, 2014), and SKELETON COAST (Flood Editions, 2017). Her poems have appeared in Conjunctions, Paris Review, Poetry, and Slate. She is on the MFA faculty at the University of Maryland and lives outside Washington, DC. Author City: Hyattsville, MD USA
