Poetry. THE COLLECTED POEMS OF JARED SMITH: 1971-2011 brings together almost 300 poems from 9 books along with over 60 poems that were previously uncollected. After earning degrees in poetry and literature from NYU, Jared spent 30 years in technology research and education, including appointments as a Special Appointee and Advisor to Argonne National Laboratory, and technical and policy advisor to several White House Commissions during the Clinton Administration.

Author Bio
Jared Smith is the author of eleven books of poetry, two spoken word CDs, and two multi-media stage adaptations of his work. His poems, essays, and literary commentary have appeared in hundreds of journals and anthologies in the US and abroad over the past 45 years. He has served on the editorial boards of The New York Quarterly, Home Planet News, The Pedestal Magazine, Trail & Timberline, and Turtle Island Quarterly as well as serving on several regional arts associations, and as a Director of The New York Quarterly Foundation.
Jared has worked as a door-to-door salesman, energy industry research executive, educator, and Advisor to several White House Commissions as well as Argonne National Laboratory. He currently lives in Colorado, where he spends much of his time exploring the mountains and tending a rustic log cabin in Roosevelt National Forest.
